ASSOLUTI D’ITALIA 2014 7^-8^ Edolo (BS)
Philippaerts close to the victory in day 2
Cobuzzi second in the italian cup
Talamo top 10 in the e2 class
To organize the final race of the Italian Championship were the MC Sebino and Edolo.
The race consisted of three laps and a half on Saturday and three on Sunday. Thanks to the strategic conformation of the path on Saturday were so traveled four times all three special: a enduro test about 8 minutes, a cross test of 4 minutes and an extreme of about 2 minutes. All tests as per the regulations were timed from the first lap.
Who, as always, was not spared was our Philippaerts who has tried everything to be able to take second position in the championship.
Saturday Deny, however, failed to go beyond the third position, while on Sunday he immediately took strong by winning the first enduro test and taking the head of the provisional standings of the day. Leadership holding up to the last enduro test where a fall caused him to lose the advantage gained. Before the last two tests, the first three riders, Albergoni, Ballets and Deny, so they are found grouped together in less than two seconds. Despite a great time last extreme Deny failed to win the victory for 1.3 seconds!!!
It ‘s been a special weekend. Saturday I could not take the pace immediately and my opponents have taken the lead. Today I had a good race, winning two extreme and two enduro test but the fall in the last enduro test made me lose the race. Too bad today I was hoping for a victory !! Now I wait for my debut at the Rally with the Merzouga Rally and the Beta Atacama. I am convinced that it will be a great experience !!
Cobuzzi who was fighting for the victory of the Italian Cup ended in second position on the first day and won the second. These results, however, were not enough for him to win the title. Good day for Talamo who won the top 10 of the class E2 in day 1, although it has found some difficulty with that kind of background.
I was convinced that today Deny could win but once again the bad luck we have had a hand. Unfortunately, after 2013 a very positive year things did not go as we all hoped, but Deny is a tenacious and next year we’ll make. Deny thank you anyway for your commitment and for being a valuable support to the success of the team and especially to David. They are two great teammates!!
